July and August - 2013

With Summer blowing by, we've been out and about as much as possible.  We hear that travelling is easiest when the baby is this young, so we're taking advantage.  We're starting to figure out her different fusses - hungry, tired, uncomfortable.  We love her so much!

 We went to Thompson Falls for the 4th of July.  Jason and Sarah Sanderson and boys, Sue and Jason, and Julie and Brooklyn all came up as well.

Uncle Brian came down from Devon preps to meet Lexie when she was about a week old.  He was home for the 4th, so this is his second time with her!

One Month Old

We took a day trip to Helena to visit Kristi and Brandon Trent.  They were nice enough to take us out boating for the afternoon.  They have a great boat, and Hubs got to try waterskiing for the first time.  He had never been pulled behind a boat - on anything!  Let's just say it was fun to witness! ;)  He actually did get up for a little bit, but was so tired by that time that it didn't last long.  Not bad, though, for a first timer!  This was Lexie's first boat trip - about 6 weeks old.

The summer just isn't complete without a trip to the Deerborn River swimming hole.  We usually swim here several times each summer.  This rock is about 30 feet high, and drops into a crystal clear hole with a sandy bottom.

Toward the end of July we went on another camping trip to Seeley Lake area with Joey and Leann Williams.  We spent two nights (tenting again) hiking, fishing, swimming and relaxing.

We didn't spend a lot of time working on the house this summer.  We still haven't installed a shower, but now that I'm no longer pregnant, it isn't such a big deal getting in and out of the tub.  We would rather spend the nice weekends out having fun, knowing that winter will come soon enough and we can work inside.  We did, however, get started on the tiling.  We pulled out the old toilet, tiled the floor and part of the wall and installed a new toilet.  Side note - this also involved removing the old vanity and sink.  So, you're welcome to come visit, but you'll have to brush your teeth in the kitchen sink!

In August Hubs had a backpacking trip planned over The Beaten Path (click link for details - separate blog post to follow), which was a little aggressive for Lexie and I, so we road tripped to Milltown Convention instead.  Unfortunately, I don't really have any pictures.

For a dose of self deprecation, I'll post this embarrassing pic of me in a seal-like position.  I was just trying to soak up some sun, and saw Hubs laughing out of the corner of my eye.  I turned to see what he was doing, and he had already texted this pic to a couple friends. Nice guy, you think? The more I look at it, though, the more I laugh.  It was actually really comfy! You'll notice the baby monitor on my tray table is my newest accessory. :)
