Lexie's 1st Birthday & Ronan Convention

Ahhh... Convention week... the best week of the year!  It was so much fun to meet up with all our family, and especially fun to have Tyce, Brooklyn and Lexie together in meeting!  It was like a revolving door on our bench, but I know these will be favorite memories forever!
Sunday of convention was Lexie's first birthday!  It's hard to believe it has been a year already.  We love, love, love our sweet little girl!

Birthday girl turns 1!
Her first taste of birthday cupcake... Buster is intrigued!

Well, at least mom likes the cake!
Thank you, Brooklyn, for the awesome car present (and books and bath toys)!!!  Lexie absolutely loves it, and drives it around constantly.  She loves to hide things in the flip up seat compartment... and has recently been trying to stand on the seat and "drive!" Yikes!

Good buddies Ryla and Buster... thanks for having Lexie's party in your trailer!  Also, thank you for the very pretty birthday dress and shoes - I will be wearing them all summer!
Those sweet little hands are one year old!
I didn't get any pictures, but Lexie got an awesome quillow from Auntie Sue - the perfect colors - which she now HAS to snuggle at bedtime, and some neat Fairy Tales books from Grandma & Grandpa.  She is very loved.

John and Jess - love this sweet couple!

It's always hard to leave convention, but even harder when you know you won't see these friends and family for quite a while.  I guess for now we'll just have to keep them in our hearts!

May 2014 - Lexie starts walking!

How has another month already come and gone?!  Our wheat crop is growing, growing, growing!  We've had LOTS of spring rains, so everything is bright green, lush, and leafy.  Spring is by far my favorite season.  There's so much hope for summer plans, looking forward to convention right around the corner, and the first warm days... spring feels to me like waking up and stretching from a long afternoon nap.
We've been enjoying working out in the yard in the evenings... pulling weeds, working on the firepit project, trimming bushes, playing frisbee... anything for some of the fresh air we've been craving.  And, Lexie can enjoy it without a snowsuit!

Yard work supervisor
Logger is not allowed on the carpet, and until I buy a baby gate (good grief... if you want something more than a glorified piece of cardboard, they're expensive!) our ottoman serves as the barrier to keep the dog out and the baby in.  They are such good friends...Lexie is constantly hanging out in the corner closest to Logger, and he loves the attention.
Sorry you're stuck out there, buddy... I'll share my toy.
Busted! :)
Lexie continues to come to work with me everyday, although she has started going to play with her aunties and cousins an afternoon a week or so.

Helping me file, wink wink
Mother's Day I woke up to caramel rolls from Wheat Montana, a sweet card, and a beautiful potted orchid from Hubs.  Also, my Birthday/Mother's Day gift arrived, and I got to try out my new pack.  It's a Deuter II Kid Carrier pack for hiking/backpacking.  I love it!  Lexie is 20 lbs, and I can hardly feel her.
Our wheat is coming up nicely!

We've continued working on the firepit project.  I think we'll need to wait until after harvest to get the gravel poured - that way the truck can come straight up to the pit (over the stubble) to pour.  Otherwise, we would have to do single pickup loads and that's just way too much wheelbarrowing.
A very rough sketch of my plans... swings included, and a rope swing for kids.
All dug out, and planning the sandstone stacking.
Josh and Jazzmyn came into town, and we went to lunch at a Mexican Restaurant.  Lexie loved the rice!
"Ole`!"
Grilling season is in full swing....

Peanut Girl has been trucking around the furniture for quite awhile now... but today she started walking!!! She is 11 1/2 months old!  It was such an awesome feeling to have her take her first steps toward me.  Being a mommy is amazing!

When we're actually in town, Saturday mornings have become "shooting mornings" for Chance and his buddy Tanner.  On this particular day I talked Kara and Wade into coming along....

She LOVES being outside!
We are loving our new place.   So peaceful.

We headed up to the Seeley Swan Valley for a spring camping trip with the Willams family (dogs included).  We found a nice camping spot along a creek up behind Placid Lake.  One day we took a hike up to Morrell Falls...
